Today was free day to explore Jerusalem. Some chose to do some shopping, others walked through the Old City. Some spent some time at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Yad Vashem, the museum remembering the Holocaust, was another important option. Mass was held at the Notre Dame Center not far from our hotel. We heard a presentation about a 1st century synagogue recently excavated near the Sea of Galilee. A few people visited the site of Herodion, the summer palace of Herod the Great and also where his tomb was recently found. We met a world renowned archaeologist, Prof. Dan Banhat and Jeff just so happened to have Prof. Bahat's book downloaded conveniently in his iPad.
