Today we spent the day in Bethlehem. We passed Rachel’s Tomb en-route to the West Bank to meet our local Palestinian guides for our visit to the Church of the Nativity. Mass was at the Church of St. Catherine’s beside the Church of the Nativity. Next we visited an olive wood shop owned by Palestinian Christians. It is important to support Christian brethren in the West Bank. After lunch we drove east of Bethlehem to view the Shepherds' Fields and the Church of the Angels where Jeff taught briefly. Recent excavations in the area of the fields have revealed churches and evidence of 1st century occupation of caves in the Shepherd's Village.
