June 20 Sunday ~ Mount of Olives, Gethsemane, City of David, Bethlehem ~ Today we did plenty of walking starting on the western slope of the Mount of Olives, we visited the Dominus Flevit Chapel, a name referencing “Jesus Wept.” It is the traditional site where Jesus contemplated the city of Jerusalem and its destruction. Next we walked down to the Garden of Gethsemane to meditate and also to celebrate mass at the Church of All Nations. Then we drove to the site of the Ascension on the top of the Mt. of Olives. Then we took a step back in time at the Time Elevator, a "ride" through the centuries of Jerusalem's history. Then part of the group went to tour Yad Vashem the Holocaust Memorial and another group drove to Tel Maresha to participate in an archaeological dig. After dinner, our priests heard confessions while Danielle and her sister Aubry sang song of meditation.
