Twin Cities Bible Studies this Fall!

Register now for Fall 2009 - Spring 2010!

I will be teaching the “Great Adventure: A Journey through the Bible” beginning this fall, a course overviewing the entire Bible. It has been seven years since this has been presented live at the Twin City Bible Studies and I am excited to offer this important course as it is core to understanding God’s plan of sheer goodness. I invite you to join us and bring a friend as well.

For the first time we are offering children’s classes at Nativity of Mary in Bloomington so the whole family can take this journey together. At 6pm dinner will be served at the parish (freewill donation) and classes will begin at 6:45. While the adults are learning from myself in the main sanctuary, children from 1st to 6th grade will be attending classes covering the same lessons but at their own level in a Faith Formation setting. Grades 7-9 will be going through the T3 teen version of the “Great Adventure: A Journey through the Bible,” which is geared to young people in an upbeat presentation.

Go to “Live Teaching” Above to access the registration forms and full schedule of locations and times. Contact Linda Wandrei, Coordinator for John Paul II Center, at lwandrei64@gmail.com.

National Catholic Bible Conference 2009 is a Huge Success in Denver!

On June 26 & 27, over 700 people came together in Denver, Colorado to attend the National Catholic Bible Conference: Scripture in the Life and Mission of the Church.  This two-day event offered a unique opportunity for all who attended to learn the power of Scripture, and how to incorporate it into their daily lives. Beginning the conference on an encouraging note of how we can grow personally and grow as a Church through the understanding of studying and doing God’s word, was Bishop James Conley. From there the pace was set, and admirably followed by some of the best Biblical teachers and scholars today. By presenting talks that focused on basic knowledge of the Bible, the transformative power of incorporating Scripture into your life, and how we can live the mission and evangelize the masses, these teachers ignited a passion in the crowd that was almost palpable.

I’d like to thank all the wonderful volunteers at St. Thomas More in Centennial, Colorado for their hard work and dedication. It was an outstanding conference and much of that was due to each person using his/her gifts for the greater good of His kingdom. What a blessing to see so many people open to letting God work through them; He certainly multiplied our loaves and fishes this weekend.

If you are interested in purchasing the 26 CD set of all the talks, Ascension Press has extended their conference special on the cost until July, 31. For more information visit: www.catholicbibleconference.com. Articles about the conference can be found at The Denver Catholic Register and on Zenit.

Blessings to all of you, and I invite you to join us for our future National Catholic Bible Conferences. You won’t be disappointed. I’ll be sure to post information on future National Catholic Bible Conferences as it unfolds.  Know that my prayer is that you will come to know God’s words and deeds in such a way that they will transform your heart, your family, your work, and your life.

In Christ,

Jeff
