On this Feast Day of St. Kateri Tekakwitha, we stop to remember to pray for our country, especially in light of the funeral for Philando Castile that will take place at the Cathedral of St. Paul, MN. St. Kateri is our patron for North America and lived during a time of much conflict between Native American tribes and between the white settlers and Native Americans and between Americans, British and French. Now when the world is in so much turmoil, it is still possible to find peace and meaning in simple devotion to Jesus Christ as did St. Kateri.
Our lives have been inspired by the short life of St. Kateri. For a full account of her life and miracles, please read Emily's book, Lily of the Mohawks, the Story of St. Kateri.
St. Kateri, pray for us!
